Top Spec Motorsports and VF Engineering are not responsible for troubleshooting, diagnostic costs, or any consequential expenses. VF-Engineering chose to supercharge the BMW 5 Series 6-cylinder models to enhance throttle response and mid-to-top-end power with the centrifugal Vortech supercharger. Maintaining the original BMW quality, smoothness, and reliability was paramount in the VF design. This is where the VF Hex Flash software comes into play. With over 15 years of supercharging experience and extensive worldwide OEM supply sources, VF has harnessed the reliability of Vortech superchargers and the precision of VF custom software to create the ultimate supercharger system for the ultimate driver’s car. All key components are made in California using some of the highest quality materials available. This system has been fully road-tested and dyno-tuned on both the in-house Mustang MD500AWD and Dynojet 224XLC dynamometers, with and without engine load. All kits are set up at approximately 6 psi, delivering power on par with, if not exceeding, that of similar products running higher boost levels and aftercooling. VF engineers dedicated over 12 months to software testing the BMW Siemens ECUs to perfect the smoothness and functionality of the supercharged vehicle. Utilizing the latest BMW file versions and proprietary software flash technology, VF provides the cleanest and most reliable method of software installation, employing a DIY programming cable and email-able software. Extensive road and dyno test cycles, including acceleration and deceleration tests, ensured drivability smoothness and optimal ECU fuel management. Test cars underwent long-term full-throttle testing in diverse conditions, from wet cold climates to the hot, dry Arizona desert, to monitor air-fuel ratios and knock activity. Competently written ECU software allowed VF to fully explore the BMW engine's potential, achieving over 40% more power in most applications. The Vortech supercharger is mounted using an in-house CNC machined aluminum bracket system, positioned in line with the original serpentine belt, which is replaced with a longer OEM belt. The key to this design is that the OEM active-spring belt tensioner remains fully functional, eliminating belt slip and the need for manual tensioning. The supercharger air ducts are custom molded in-house from polypropylene plastic, ensuring an OEM appearance, quality, and fit. The incorporated Bosch boost overrun system ensures smooth off-throttle cruising and deceleration. The crankcase ventilation system is designed to handle positive pressure, and high-flow OEM injectors are provided as direct replacements. The VF supercharger system remains fully OBD2 compliant and is supported by a one-year unlimited mileage warranty on the product. Installation is non-intrusive, can be completed in approximately 8-10 hours, and is fully reversible.

Returns
HEX Tuning software has a 30 day return policy starting from the day HEX Flash Cable carrier tracking confirms delivery to your shipping address.Â
To start a software return, email support@topspecmotorsports.com, please include your VIN number and invoice number. A HEX Tuning representative must be able to verify that the vehicles ECU has been flashed back to stock which may require remote access by one of our technicians. Once the ECU has been flashed back to stock, the customer is responsible for return shipping of the HEX Flash device. After the HEX Flash device has been received, the refund will be processed within 24 – 72 hours.
All returns must be authorized and accompanied by a Return Authorization (RA) number, freight prepaid. No COD Freight Collect Returns will be accepted. All returned goods (not supercharger systems) will be subject to a restocking fee of 25%.
Supercharger systems, discontinued, damaged, and special order items are not refundable. All returned products (not supercharger systems) must be in “like new” condition. Credit will be issued after inspection by VF-Engineering. Please make the return within 15 days of receipt of a Return Authorization number and enclose a copy of the original invoice and a brief explanation of the reason for return.
